Us English Montreal students are getting raped in the ass with days off. As you can see here, we've got another two days off next week. This is coming after a 5 DAY WEEKEND last week. While I think it's fun having days off, I have two problems with it.
  • At this rate, we're fucked academically. If there are any other surprise days off, especially before exams, then our futures are down the shitter. If it's not *that* bad, then they're... well, not down the shitter, but their legs are being broken, and are in need of crutches.
  • I have nothing to do with my personal life, being single again.
What a dilemma, eh? It gives me time to catch up with homework, I guess. I can also try... you know... being social and stuff. Maybe I'll go hang out with my niece and both my nephews or something. Or I'll record myself playing the guitar, record something original and post it on Myspace for the world to see. Or I'll go and play an acoustic show for my friends. Invite them over and play them songs of better days, happier people...

I'm in a mellow music sort of mind tonight. If you're reading this, comment and suggest stuff. I honestly don't care if you think I'll like it or not, I'll listen to it regardless.

I feel stoic tonight. In the past, I've said that I wanted to be like this, but I take it back.

music.... [Oct. 23rd, 2005|12:09 pm]
I have to write a set of original songs from the school play this year. They all have to be based around the theme of "a band trying to make it in the face of an evil soulless music industry."

The title? 110%.

I'm with Kevin for this project. Hopefully we can get something done.

The PTC is right. [Oct. 23rd, 2005|12:08 pm]
It bothers me to see kids that are like... 10 and 11, and even younger watching most of the stuff on TV today. I have absolutely no problem with what they're showing on TV (except if it sucks); instead the problem is seeing these kids watch shows that they won't understand at all.

Perfect example: Family Guy. Park an 8 year old in front of the screen when this is on, and see when they laugh. They just don't get it. It's stupid.

I had a whole thing thought out about the topic but I don't really care to write it out anymore. The whole point is, people like the PTC (Parents Television Council) are right. Kids shouldn't be watching this stuff. Not because they shouldn't be, and it's morally corrupting, but because little children are stupid.

Thinking of the strangest things. [Oct. 9th, 2005|10:50 pm]
Which is cheaper? A box of Rice Krispie squares, or a box of Rice Krispies and a bag of marshmellows? I feel like making them. NOW.

NEWSFLASH!! I'm an idiot. [Aug. 3rd, 2005|05:52 am]
Remember how I said it was at 5:30AM? Well, it wasn't. It made sense though. My dad explained the logic to me. He said that when he was applying for one of this first jobs, at a fast food place a long time ago, he had to show up at 5AM to see the manager. See, it's not busy at all at that hour, so you'd have as much time as you want to talk and ask questions to each other. It all made perfect sense.

But that didn't apply this time.

Oops.

But I am watching the sun rise. My oh my it's pretty.

So yeah, if anyone wants to call me before 5PM today, and hear me answer the phone in french, then be my guest. :)

Other things that happened this morning )

Gonna go back outside and breathe in the fresh air.

5:30AM [Aug. 2nd, 2005|09:52 am]
I have an interview (sort of*) at Tim Hortons at 5:30 in the morning tomorrow. I'm a little afraid.... someone, call me and help me practice my french!

*I never applied, I asked if I could have an application form, and the manager said for me to come in on Wednesday at 5:30. I knew it was the morning, because he said 5h30, not 17h30. :(

Wish me luck, and wish me good night. With the way I've been sleeping, waking up at 5 will be a nightmare.

Seriously, that's the coolest thing ever. I would love to own it, just so I could have an exo-frame.

So I watched The Usual Suspects in french... [Jun. 17th, 2005|06:15 pm]
Watching the Usual Suspects in french really adds a new dimension to the film. Same goes for the Empire Strikes Back.

Of course, "new dimension" just means "I don't understand."
